The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is an all-new compact SUV and the first model of the fourth-generation Rogue. It is the first Nissan sold in the U.S. with hybrid e-POWER technology: two electric motors drive the wheels, while a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine works only as a generator to charge the onboard battery. The engine never drives the wheels, and there is no conventional transmission.
You fill it with gasoline like any other hybrid. You never plug it in. What you feel behind the wheel is 225 combined horsepower delivered instantly and smoothly, with standard dual-motor all-wheel drive on every trim.

How Hybrid e-POWER Works
The wheels are driven 100% by electric motors, one on each axle. The gasoline engine has one job: generate electricity for the battery and motors, at efficient, low RPM. Brake or coast, and regenerative braking sends energy back to the battery. You refuel at any gas station in about five minutes.
Efficient
Regenerative braking recaptures energy, and the engine can stay off in certain low-speed driving, for an estimated 40 MPG city.
Smooth
With no gears to shift, power builds in one seamless surge. There is no jolt when the engine switches on or off to charge the battery.
Quick
Electric motors deliver strong torque from a standstill, so merging and passing feel immediate and responsive.
Quiet
The engine runs only when needed, and at lower RPM. At times it is hard to tell whether it is running at all.
