Unlocking Your Nissan with a Dead Key Fob

You won’t be able to unlock your car with a push of a button if your Nissan key fob battery is dead. Here’s how to manually unlock your door:

• 

  Flip the key fob over and push the small release latch.

• Pull out the hidden, narrow emergency key from the bottom of the fob.
• Unlock the door.

Starting Your Nissan

Just place the key fob in the key fob port in you vehicle’s dash, then tap the brake pedal or clutch while pressing the START/STOP button. If your model doesn’t have a key fob port, press the fob against the START/STOP button.

Nissan Key Fob Battery Change

Nissan key fob battery replacements are easy to find in Tacoma since they use a standard CR2025 lithium battery. Once you’ve purchased a new battery, replacement is easy:

1. Remove the hidden key you used to get into your Nissan.
2. Remove the key housing, take note of the battery’s position, and remove it.
3. Put the new battery in place, making sure the negative side of the battery is facing up toward you.
4. Put the key fob back together, and test it to ensure it works properly.
